Based in the Sacramento area in California, I know the Valley as well as anyone can. I have detected in many great places, and consider myself very lucky to have gone hunting over the years with some of the genuine legends in the hobby. Big Valley Metal detectors was conceived in 2004 after repeated attempts by my detecting buddy, Greg from Trans Bay, to get me into the business. He thought that I'd do well in this end of the hobby, and, as it turned out, he was absolutely right.

When you come see me, I'll show you a vast range of models, which I keep on display and in stock, and honestly tell you what you should expect to get out of this interesting hobby. I think that one of the most important things for success in this hobby is proper training in the region in which you plant to hunt. Metal detecting, like driving, just cannot be learned from reading a book.
